Hope for Today

A Night time Prayer (with music)

My faithful God, answer me when I call out to you. Give me rest from my trouble. Have mercy on me. Hear my prayer.

How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love what will certainly fail you? How long will you pray to statues of gods?

Remember that the Lord has set apart his faithful servant for himself. The Lord hears me when I call out to Him.

Tremble and do not sin. When you are in bed, look down deep inside yourself and be silent. Offer to the Lord the sacrifices that godly people offer. Trust in Him.

Lord, many are asking, “Who will make us successful?”

Lord, may you do good things for us. Fill my heart with joy when the people have lots of grain and fresh wine.

In peace I will lie down and sleep. Lord, you alone keep me safe.

~ Psalm 4

Closeness to God, Hope for Today

The Importance of a Quiet Morning

Jesus was a busy man – always on the move and surrounded by crowds of people. He would travel by foot to different villages. He preached. He healed. He spent time with people. You could say His calendar was full.

Mark 1:35 says, Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

Why did Jesus get up while it was still dark, withdraw Himself so He could be completely alone, to pray? Before the noise and rush of the day, Jesus wanted His heart quiet and restored with God.

If you want to remain untouched by the busyness of the day, with the ability to stay focused on your purpose, then you must start your day by being alone with God.

Rise with your thoughts focused in prayer, and meditation on His Word. Then, go and be busy working and serving others, until it’s time again to be alone and restored with God.

Beauty, Confidence, Hope for Today

What Makes a Woman Beautiful

The world tell us it’s our hair, make-up, wardrobe, jewelry, and car that make us beautiful. It’s almost impossible not to get wrapped up in this lie. This lie clouds our perception of what beauty means, and before we know it we are too caught up to even realize how far away we are from the truth.

Below our God’s Words to us women…His perception of what real beauty is:

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty that depends on jewelry, or beautiful clothes, or how you wear your hair. Be beautiful inside, in your hearts, with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God.

(1 Peter 3:3-5)

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

…make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

Sarah, for instance, obeyed her husband Abraham, honoring him as head of the house. And if you do the same, you will be following in her steps like good daughters and doing what is right.

Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces should never be ashamed.
